Photographing different parts of the holidays! As well as attempting to capture the beauty that is unique to this time of year!
While working on this section, I learned about finding the beauty in things we see everyday. I wanted to find things that represented the holidays near me.
Technical/Influential
For this section I found some of my favorite photos taken by Harry Callahan. And then took a photo attempting to reflect the inspiration I got from a photo of his. My photo is on the right.
I tried to use the same technique of looking down a street with trees along the sides. As well as using black and white. I wish I could have photographed with similar props/ people. I think that would have made my inspired photo even better.
THEMATIC
The theme for these photos is using shadows or low light.
For this section I had to really think about what would make the best looking shadows and low light. This was the most difficult section for me for a couple reasons. I found it difficult to get perfectly in focus photos while shooting in low light. Also I had to try a bunch of different ways of holding the flashlight.
